Blur is an 18-and-over relationship app. We don't allow minors on the platform, and we have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse or exploitation in any form. This page explains how we enforce that, how to report a concern, and what happens after you do.
Every account requires a date of birth, and we check it in two places: the date picker in the app won't let you choose a date that makes you younger than 18, and our servers independently reject account creation if the date of birth would make the user under 18 — even if the app were bypassed. Date of birth can't be edited after your account is created.
Before your account is created, you must separately confirm — as a distinct step from accepting our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy — that you are at least 18 years old. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, or that age was misrepresented at signup, we remove that profile from discovery, matching, and messaging.
Blur strictly prohibits child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or behavior that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits a minor, in profiles, photos, messages, or any other conduct on the platform. Attempting to use Blur to contact, groom, or exploit a minor will result in removal.
You can report any profile directly from Discover or from that person's profile screen. Reporting includes a dedicated reason for an underage user, alongside reasons for spam, fake profiles, inappropriate content, and harassment. You can also block anyone at any time, which immediately stops them from contacting you or appearing to you again.
If you believe a child is at risk, or you've encountered content you believe involves child sexual abuse or exploitation, please also email us directly at support@blurmeet.com so we can prioritize it.
Reports are reviewed by a person on our team, not resolved automatically. A reviewed report can lead to a warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban that removes the account from discovery, matching, and messaging. Every decision is logged internally.
We don't currently run automated image-scanning or hash-matching systems to detect this content proactively — our process depends on reports from users, reviewed by a person. If something feels wrong, please report it rather than assuming it will be caught automatically.
Photos on Blur start blurred and are only revealed gradually, through mutual interaction between two people. This is a relationship-pacing and privacy feature, built to slow down first impressions — it is not a child-safety detection or age-verification system, and it should not be relied on as one.
Where we become aware of an apparent instance of child sexual abuse material or exploitation, we remove the associated content and account. We may preserve information relevant to a report and will cooperate with valid legal process from law enforcement, and make reports to the relevant authorities, where legally required.
No reporting or review process catches every violation immediately. If something feels wrong, report it and stop engaging with that account — don't wait to be certain.
We may update this page as our processes evolve. If we make a change that materially affects how we handle child safety, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
